Updates on Hockey Trips & Podcasts

Just before the hockey season ended, I was supposed to go to Seattle to see the awesomely named team, The Seattle Kraken. So, I would have had a new post for you about that. However, it was my turn to get COVID. I’ve held out for too long and I finally caught it. I didn’t want to spread my germs, and it’s lucky that I had that mindset. The day that I would have attended the game, I felt awful. So that would have been a horrible experience for myself, and everyone involved.

I’m vaccinated, so other than that one really bad day, I made it through with a cough that lingered for a bit and two weeks of serious brain fog. That brain fog was no joke. At one point I called a fork a “stab eater.“ Yeah, I was totally stupid for two weeks. The only way I can describe it is it was like my thought process was drunk. My coordination was there. I was totally capable, and I was working out a week after I was sick. I didn’t feel safe driving because I thought I might forget that red meant stop.

So, no hockey trip this year. I’ll get one next season. I’m debating on choosing Seattle again or another city. I’ve missed one other game because of logistics that were totally out of my control and for some reason I took it as a challenge. I went back to that city the next season to slay that dragon. That city was Detroit.

In other news, I was on a totally rad podcast called The Picky Bookworm. I will post a link below. Pamela is a great host and I had a blast on the show. So, check that out if you need something for your morning commute. Mrs. Bookworm also has an editing service worth checking out, so I will link the main website as well.

I’m deep into editing on my current work in progress and it’s coming along. But man, it is a lot of editing. This is probably the most intense first edit I’ve ever done on a novel. It will totally be worth it. It’s a much lighter story than The Countdown series, which turned into pure chaos and tragedy by the third book.
