This was my debut novel and the first in The Coundown trilogy. This Earth-based, modern era, science fiction, comedy novel is about an AI that starts a countdown. James, the main hero of our story, goes on a journey through a possibly malfunctioning AI’s psyche.

Val is gone. And after living in Val’s virtual reality, James must reconcile his life there with actual reality. His relationship with Mia was never real and his daughter isn’t just dead, she never existed. As if that weren’t enough, the hardware in James’ head is firing off automated commands and possibly making him see life through the eyes of a pickpocket. James begins to question if Val had plans in case of her demise or if she really is gone.

Val was never gone, she had just split her code amongst several other human brains. After killing half the Earth’s human population she took control of James. Mia, Danny, and Amelia sit in an underground bunker, trying to crack her code and track down the other humans with her existence in their brains. Mia is on a collision course with Val. The consequences of their battle could be fatal to both of them and what’s left of humanity.
